New Zealand Consumer Confidence March 2019

New Zealand: Consumer confidence edges up in March

The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence indicator ticked up to 121.8 in March, from February’s 120.8. The index therefore moved further above the 100-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.

Consumers’ expectations on future conditions rose in March from a month earlier. This reflected a stronger one-year outlook on both their personal and the country’s financial situation, as well as an improved outlook on the country’s economic situation in the next five years. However, consumers were slightly less confident on current conditions.
