Mexico: Manufacturing PMI hits highest reading since June 2017 in March; services PMI dips
The Mexican Institute of Financial Executives (IMEF) Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 54.5 in March, up from February’s 50.2. March’s result marked the strongest reading since June 2017. As a result, the index moved further above the 50.0 no-change threshold, signaling a faster improvement in manufacturing sector operating conditions compared to the previous month. The headline print reflected improvements in output, employment and new orders.
Meanwhile, the non-Manufacturing PMI came in at 52.1 in March, down from February’s 52.7, on softer readings for new orders and output.
