Mexico: Consumer confidence deteriorates in December
Consumer confidence fell to 44.5 in December from November’s 46.0. The reading was driven by consumers becoming more pessimistic regarding their personal economic situation over the past year, their personal economic situation over the next year, the general economic situation of the country over the past 12 months and the general economic situation of the country over the next 12 months. Looking at Q4 as a whole, consumer confidence averaged slightly higher compared to Q3, which together with falling unemployment bodes well for private consumption in the quarter.
