Malaysia: Inflation edges down in December
Consumer prices rose 0.40% over the previous month in December, up from November’s 0.24% rise. December’s result largely reflected higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, prices for transportation cooled in December.
Inflation came in at 3.2% in December, inching down from November’s 3.3% increase. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.5% in December (November: 2.1%).
