Malaysia: Inflation declines in June
Consumer prices rose 0.08% in June over the previous month, following May’s flat reading. The figure was primarily due to rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. That said, prices for transportation tumbled over the previous month.
Inflation came in at 3.4% in June, which was down from May’s 4.4%. June’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since March. The annual average variation of consumer prices rose to 0.4% in June, coming above May’s flat result.
