Luxembourg: Harmonized consumer prices drop year-on-year in August
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.82% over the previous month in August, swinging from July’s 0.49% drop. August’s increase was largely driven by higher prices for clothing and footwear, as well as increased costs for recreation and culture.
Inflation eased to 0.6% in August from July’s 0.9%. Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.2% year-on-year in August, contrasting July’s 0.1% rise. Lastly, annual average inflation inched down to 1.1% in August (July: 1.2%).
