Lithuania: Inflation rises in June
Consumer prices increased 2.32% over the previous month in June, broadly stable from May’s 2.34% rise. The slightly softer rise was primarily driven by a softer rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Moreover, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco grew at a more subdued pace.
Inflation increased to 21.0% in June from May’s 18.9%. June’s result represented the highest inflation rate since September 1996. Annual average inflation rose to 12.0% in June (May: 10.5%). Finally, harmonized inflation rose to 20.5% in June, from May’s 18.5%.
