Lithuania: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since January 2021 in March
Harmonized inflation eased to 0.4% in March, following February’s 1.1%. March’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since January 2021. The decline was driven by falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and easing price pressures for housing and utilities. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 4.8% in March (February: 6.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation 0.0% in March, from the previous month’s 0.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.07% from the previous month in March, contrasting the 0.70% increase seen in February.
