Lithuania: Economic growth decelerates in Q1

According to the flash estimate released by the National Statistics Office on 30 April, GDP rose 3.1% in the first quarter over the same period of last year. The reading represents a deceleration compared to the 3.6% increase registered in the fourth quarter.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP grew a seasonally- and working-day adjusted 0.6% in Q1, which halved the 1.2% expansion observed in Q4. More detailed data will be released on 30 May.
The Central Bank expects GDP to grow 3.6% in 2014 and 3.8% in 2015. FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see the economy growing 3.6% in 2014, which is unchanged from last month's estimate. In 2015, the panel expects GDP to expand 4.0%.
