Korea: Consumer confidence picks up in June
Consumer confidence jumped to 110.3 in June from May’s 105.2. June’s result marked the strongest sentiment since January 2018. As a result, the index moved further above the 100-point threshold, indicating optimism among consumers.
The print came amid significant improvements in households’ sentiment regarding current and future economic conditions, as well as better expectations regarding employment opportunities. In addition, consumers’ views on prospective interest rates, income, spending and living standards became more upbeat.
