Korea: Consumer confidence hits highest reading since February but remains pessimistic in October
Consumer confidence jumped to 91.6 in October from September’s 79.4. October’s result marked the strongest reading since February. As a result, the index came closer to the 100-point threshold, but still indicated pessimism among consumers.
When compared with September, households’ perspective regarding current living standards improved significantly, as did the expectation on future living standards, income and spending. Moreover, households became less pessimistic about current and future economic conditions.
