Business confidence among manufacturing firms fell to 97.0 in June from May’s 98.0. As a result, the index remained below the 100-point threshold separating pessimism from optimism among businesses.
Taking a closer look, both export-oriented and domestic demand-oriented firms drove the downtick, potentially linked to shortages of semiconductors that particularly affected auto industries.
