Kazakhstan: Industrial activity tumbles to 18-month low in July
Industrial output fell 2.4% year on year in July (June: -1.3% yoy). The result marked the worst reading since January 2021. The weakening was partly driven by a contraction in manufacturing output. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying production continued to shrink albeit at a more moderate rate.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 3.7%, down from June’s 4.6% reading.
