Kazakhstan: Decline in industrial activity moderates in November
Industrial output decreased 2.9% in November (October: -6.2% yoy). The reading marked the best result since May. November’s smaller contraction came on the back of improvements in manufacturing, which grew at a faster pace, and mining and quarrying production, which fell at a much softer rate. However, electricity production deteriorated, falling at a faster pace.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.2% in November, contrasting October’s plus 0.4% reading.
