Japan: Industrial activity dips in April
Industrial output declined 0.1% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms in April (March: +4.4% mom). The reading was partly due to a deterioration in manufacturing output. In contrast, mining production rebounded.
On an annual basis, industrial production fell at a softer rate of 1.0% in April (March: -6.2% yoy). Meanwhile, annual average of industrial production was unchanged at March’s 1.9% in April.
