Japan: Industrial output growth dips in August
Industrial output rose 1.0% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in August, which was a deterioration from July’s 8.7% increase, which had marked the best result since at least 1990.
On an annual basis, industrial output dropped 13.8% in August (July: -15.5% yoy), the softest fall since March. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.0% in August, down from July’s minus 9.4% reading.
