Italy: Inflation hits two-year high in April
Consumer prices rose 0.39% from the previous month in April, picking up from the 0.29% increase recorded in March. The increase was primarily driven by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation rose to 1.1% in April, slightly above March’s 0.8%. April’s result marked the highest inflation rate since April 2019. The annual average variation of consumer prices was flat in April (March: -0.1%). Harmonized inflation came in at 1.0% in April from March’s 0.6% increase.
