Israel: Merchandise exports rise at a faster pace in March
Merchandise exports soared 29.0% over the same month last year in March, on the heels of February’s 23.8% jump. Meanwhile, merchandise imports shot up 27.7% over the same month last year in March (February: +30.7% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance deteriorated from the previous month, recording a USD 3.6 billion deficit in March (February 2022: USD 3.5 billion deficit; March 2021: USD 2.8 billion deficit). Lastly, the trend pointed down, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 37.5 billion deficit in March, compared to the USD 36.7 billion deficit in February.
