Ireland: Harmonized inflation falls to lowest level since June 2021 in April
Harmonized inflation came in at 1.6% in April, down from March’s 1.7%. April’s result marked the weakest inflation rate since June 2021. The cooling of price pressures was largely driven by softer growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 3.5% in April (March: 3.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.5% in April, from the previous month’s 2.8%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.17% in April over the previous month, below the 0.34% rise logged in March. April’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
