Ireland: Industrial output grows at fastest pace since November 2021 in May
Industrial output increased 13.9% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in May, which contrasted April’s 9.6% decrease. The figure marked the best result since November 2021. The notable turnaround was largely driven by recoveries in modern sector and traditional sector output.
On an annual basis, overall industrial production grew 0.1% in May, rebounding from April’s 28.7% fall and marking the best result since September 2021. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 4.9% in May, down from April’s minus 2.7%.
