Indonesia: Inflation increases in August

Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.03% over the previous month in August, a smaller increase than the 0.08% rise logged in July.

Inflation came in at 1.6% in August, which was up from July’s 1.5%. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at July's 1.5% in August. Lastly, core inflation fell to 1.3% in August, from the previous month's 1.4%.

FocusEconomics panelists project inflation of 2.0% in 2021, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2022, inflation is seen averaging 2.9%.
