Greece: Industrial production shrinks in October
Industrial production dipped 0.3% year-on-year in working-day adjusted terms in October, following September’s strong 2.4% increase. October’s downturn was mainly driven by sharper contractions in the electricity, and mining and quarrying sectors compared to September. Meanwhile, growth of the water supply sector picked up slightly, but manufacturing output moderated in October.
On a month-on-month and working-day adjusted basis, industrial production plunged 7.7% in October, after soaring 7.4% in September. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production held steady at 1.4%.
