Greece: Industrial output bounces back in May
Industrial output rose 3.2% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in May, which contrasted April’s 4.8% decrease. May’s figure was mainly due to a notable rebound in manufacturing production. In addition, electricity supply output fell at a softer rate.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, factory output rebounded, rising 2.4% in May (April: -7.8% mom). Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 6.6% in May (April: +7.5%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
