Ghana: Inflation hits five month high in August
Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.27% from the previous month in August, waning markedly from July’s 1.63% increase. August’s result came amid falling prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, as well as slower price growth for transport .
Inflation came in at 9.7% in August, up from July’s 9.0% result and marking the highest rate since March. Meanwhile, the trend remained stable, with annual average inflation coming in at 9.5% again in August.
