Germany: Harmonized inflation increases in April
Harmonized consumer prices increased 0.69% over the previous month in April, down from the 2.47% increase logged in March. Although a detailed breakdown is not yet available, elevated energy and food prices are likely to be behind the result.
Harmonized inflation came in at 7.8% in April, which was up from March’s 7.6%. April’s result represented the highest inflation rate since records began. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 4.8% in April (March: 4.3%).
