France: Harmonized inflation falls to near four-year low in April
In April, consumer prices were stable month-on-month, after March’s 0.1% increase, according to a second release by the Statistical Institute (INSEE). A rebound in food prices offset the drop in energy prices.
Similarly, harmonized consumer prices were stable in April (March: +0.1% month-on-month), while harmonized inflation came in at 0.4% (March: 0.8%), the lowest print since August 2016. Meanwhile, annual average harmonized inflation edged down to 1.2% from 1.3% in the month prior.
