France: Consumer confidence records worst reading since July 2013 in June
Consumer confidence came in at 82.0 in June, down from May’s 85.0. June’s result marked the weakest sentiment since July 2013. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 100-threshold—its long-term average—indicating sustained pessimism among consumers. The fall came on the back of a broad-based deterioration across all subcomponents. Specifically, consumers’ views of the general economic situation and inflation over the next 12 months decreased significantly.
