Finland: Consumer prices record biggest fall since November 2015 in April
Consumer prices fell 0.3% in April over the last month, coming in below the 0.2% fall logged in March. The decline largely reflected falling clothing and footwear prices, while transport prices also dropped amid lower fuel costs. Meanwhile, health costs increased in April, tempering the overall decrease.
Consumer prices declined 0.3% on an annual basis in April, contrasting March’s 0.6% increase and marking the sharpest fall in consumer prices since November 2015. In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.8% in April (March: 0.9%). Lastly, the harmonized index of consumer prices dropped 0.3% in April, contrasting the 0.9% increase in the previous month.
