Finland: Current account records deficit in June
The current account recorded a EUR 0.4 billion deficit in June, swinging from the EUR 0.4 billion surplus recorded in June last year. In the 12 months leading up to June, the current account was balanced, swinging from May’s EUR 0.9 billion surplus.
The merchandise trade balance came in at EUR 0.3 billion surplus in June, increasing from the EUR 0.2 billion surplus recorded in June 2019. Exports decreased 6.8% in June compared with the same month last year, a much slower rate than the 19.4% dive recorded in May. Meanwhile, imports fell 10.1% this month, after having plummeted 22.6% in May.
