Ecuador: Economic activity declines in January
In January, economic activity fell 0.1% over the same month of last year, according to the monthly economic activity indicator (IDEAC) released by the Central Bank of Ecuador. The result was above December’s revised contraction of 0.9% (previously reported: -1.7% year-on-year).
In month-on-month, seasonally-adjusted terms, economic activity rose 0.7% in January, following December’s revised 0.5% increase. Meanwhile, annual average economic activity fell 0.4% in January, which was down from December’s 0.2% decline.
