Denmark: Inflation recedes in December
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.47% over the previous month in December, contrasting the 0.28% increase recorded in November. December’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since January 2015. The decline was driven by moderating price pressures for housing and utilities and falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for transport.
Inflation came in at 3.1% in December, which was down from November’s 3.4%. Still, annual average inflation rose to 1.9% in December (November: 1.6%). Finally, core inflation edged down to 1.5% in December, from the previous month’s 1.6%.
