Denmark: Manufacturing activity rebounds in August
Manufacturing production rose 2.6% month on month in seasonally-adjusted terms in August (July: -3.2% mom). Looking at the details of the release, the upturn was chiefly due to brisker investment goods output growth. Additionally, intermediate goods production also increased. Conversely, non-durable consumer goods output increased at a slower rate in August.
On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing output rose at a faster rate of 12.8% in August (July: +10.9% yoy). Still, annual average manufacturing production growth fell to 13.1% in August (July: +13.2%). This signals a worsening trend in the manufacturing sector.
