Denmark: Industrial output continues to expand solidly in August
Industrial output expanded 5.1% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in August, which followed July’s 5.3% increase. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown was largely due to a decline in the production of durable and intermediate goods. That said, the manufacture of non-durable consumer goods expanded notably.
On an annual basis, factory output grew 11.5% in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in August, which was below July’s 12.6% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with annual average industrial production growth rising to 3.1% in August (July: +1.7%).
