Czech Republic: Industrial production nearly stagnates in July
Industrial production rose a mild 0.1% in calendar-day adjusted, year-on-year terms in July, contrasting the sharp 3.4% downturn logged in June. July’s rebound was largely driven by a swing back to growth of the manufacturing sector, buoyed by a robust recovery of the motor vehicle segment. Meanwhile, the mining and quarrying, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply industries contracted again in July.
In seasonally-adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial output advanced 0.7% in July, also rebounding from the 2.8% fall recorded in June.
