Czech Republic: Economy expands at softer pace in Q2
The economy expanded 3.6% in seasonally-adjusted year-on-year terms in Q2, following Q1’s 4.9% increase. The war in Ukraine weighed on the economy, affecting supply chains, energy prices and the economic outlook. Meanwhile, output increased 0.2% on a seasonally-adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis in Q2, following the 0.9% rise recorded in Q4.
Household and capital spending made positive contributions to year-on-year growth in Q2, while domestic demand supported the quarter-on-quarter expansion. A detailed breakdown is scheduled to be released on 30 August.
