Colombia: Industrial production contracts in November
Industrial production fell 1.5% on an annual basis in November, contrasting October’s 2.2% expansion (previously reported: +2.1% year-on-year) and marking the lowest reading since March 2018 according to the Statistical Institute (DANE). A breakdown by industrial activity revealed that contractions in other manufacturing industries; in the manufacture of basic iron and steel; in the production of pharmaceuticals and medicinal chemical products; and in the manufacture of motor vehicles largely drove November’s downturn.
Annual average growth in industrial production fell to 1.2% from 1.9% in November.
