Chile: Consumer confidence falls in June
Consumer confidence fell to 96.9 in June from May’s 103.8. June’s result marked the weakest sentiment since October 2021. As a result, the index pointed to pessimistic sentiment among consumers. Higher inflation and interest rates, coupled with pessimism regarding the constitutional process, could have influenced the reading.
The fall came on the heels of a marked deterioration in consumers’ views of the future situation along with a slight worsening in consumers’ assessments of the current situation.
