Brazil: Inflation hits over four-year high in February
Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.86% from the previous month in February, picking up from January’s 0.25% increase. The reading was driven by rising prices for transportation and housing. In addition, prices for health and personal care also gained steam.
Inflation came in at 5.2% in February, up from January’s 4.6%, marking the highest reading since January 2017. Annual average inflation edged up to 3.3% in February (January: 3.2%).
