Brazil: Economic activity rises in January
Economic activity grew 1.0% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, rising from the 0.7% growth clocked in December 2020 and marking the highest reading in four months.
On an annual basis, economic activity fell 0.5% in January, contrasting December’s 1.6% rise which had marked a 14-month high. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with the annual average variation of economic activity coming in at minus 4.0% in January, thus matching December’s reading.
