Brazil: Consumer confidence improves in February
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation rose to 78.0 in February from January’s 75.8. As such, the index moved closer to the 100-point threshold, but still indicated pessimism among consumers.
The headline print reflected an improvement in consumers’ views of the current economic situation. Moreover, they also turned less pessimistic regarding the future economic situation.
