Belgium: Harmonized inflation comes in at highest level since the series began in 1997
Harmonized inflation came in at 13.1% in October, which was up from Septembers 12.1%. October’s figure was the highest inflation rate since our current records began. The reading was driven by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as housing and utilities.
The trend pointed up, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 9.8% in October (September: 9.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 12.3% in October, from the previous month’s 11.3%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 2.71% from the previous month in October, accelerating from September’s 1.34% increase.
