Austria: Industrial production rises in September
Industrial production rose 0.2% month-on-month in September, swinging from a revised 1.4% contraction in August (previously reported: -2.3% month-on-month). The increase was driven by a strong rise in energy generation while output of intermediate goods and non-durable consumer goods also rose. However, production of capital goods and consumer durables dropped.
Compared to the same month a year earlier, industrial output fell 0.5%. This contrasted the revised 0.5% expansion in August (previously reported: -0.4% year-on-year). Annual average industrial production growth, meanwhile, eased from 3.8% in August to 3.5% in September.
