Austria: Industrial output falls at stronger pace in September
Industrial output decreased 2.3% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in September (August: -1.2% mom). The stronger drop in output came on the back of contractions in energy, non-durable consumer goods, and intermediate goods production.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 3.3% in September, which was below August’s 7.8% expansion and marked the worst result since February. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 8.4% in September (August: +7.3%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
