Austria: Industrial output growth eases in April
Industrial output increased 1.6% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in April, which was a deterioration from March’s 1.9% increase. The figure was largely driven by a deterioration in durable consumer goods production, as it recorded the weakest reading since August 2021. Meanwhile, capital goods production picked up pace.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose at a quicker rate of 9.2% in April (March: +7.4% yoy). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 9.6%, down from March’s 11.2%.
