Austria: Consumer confidence decreases in May
Consumer confidence was at minus 25.0 in May down from April’s minus 24.0. Thus, the index remained below the 0-threshold separating optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers’ views regarding price developments and their financial situation over the next 12 months were more downbeat than in April. Additionally, consumers’ perceptions about their current financial situation were slightly worse. Moreover, consumers were less inclined to make major purchases now and in the year ahead.
