Argentina: Inflation rises in January
Consumer prices surged 4.00% over the previous month in January, matching the jump logged in December and marking the joint-fastest increase in over one year. In January, the sharpest increases in prices were recorded for communication, restaurants and hotels and for food and beverages.
Inflation increased to 38.5% in January from December’s 36.1%, marking the fastest print in five months. Annual average inflation fell to 41.5% in January (December: 42.7%).
