Argentina: Inflation comes in at highest level since our records began
Consumer prices rose 6.05% in April over the previous month, slowing down from the 6.73% increase logged in March, which had marked the highest reading on record.
Inflation came in at 58.0% in April, which was up from March’s 55.1%. April’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since our current records began, chiefly reflecting upside pressures steaming from the Russia-Ukraine war and an associated surge in global food and commodity prices. Annual average inflation rose to 52.3% in April (March: 51.3%).
