Argentina: Consumer confidence drops further in April
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index decreased to 35.7 in April from 36.9 in March. Therefore, the index moved further below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers grew more pessimistic over their future financial situation, and their willingness to purchase big ticket items weakened. On the other hand, their expectations over the general economic conditions in the year ahead improved.
