Denmark: Manufacturing production growth moderates in April

Manufacturing output rose 1.1% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in April, which was a deterioration from March’s 4.6% increase. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown was due to a decline in production in the intermediate industry and of investment goods in April. Further, non-durable consumer goods output expanded at a softer pace.

On an annual basis, manufacturing production increased 17.8% in seasonally-adjusted terms in April, which was notably better than March’s 12.7% expansion and marked the best result on record. Consequently, the trend improved significantly, with the annual average growth of manufacturing production coming in at 11.7%, up from March’s 10.8%.
