Ukraine: Industrial output contracts at softer pace in September
Industrial production tumbled 4.4% over the same month last year in September, softer than August’s 5.3% decline and marking a full year of monthly drops.
Looking at the details of the release, September’s milder fall was driven by smaller contractions in manufacturing and energy output. Production in the mining and quarrying sector, however, slumped at a sharper pace compared to August.
Meanwhile, the trend continued to deteriorate, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 6.5%, down from August’s minus 6.1%.
